Verse 2:5b shows the 5th of 24 miracles Jesus performs in this gospel. The 2nd through 4th phrases have these 3 narrator and 5 dialog words, ... legei tō paralutikō, Teknon, afientai sou ai hamartiai (he-says to-the paralytic, ... "Child, are-forgiven of-you the sins."). The 8 words are top down. The word "legei" (he-says) is tangent to Jesus. The 5 words "Teknon, afientai sou ai hamartiai" (child, are forgiven of you the sins) are tangent to the "paralytic child, the two sins, and the destroyed Unclean Spirit." The sign of their faith is now the sign of the child's health. The undisclosed sins of the paralytic child are cast to the ground where they are "forgiven." 2:5a < Verses > 2:6a |
