Story
The Third Sign Miracle happened in Jerusalem when Jesus stepped up into the Holy City to attend a feast of the Jews soon after curing the Royal official's son. According to Tradition, when an angel randomly agitated the waters at the five portico pool of Bethesda in Jerusalem by the Sheep-Gate, the first one who entered the water was cured. At the pool four different kinds of ill ones waited to enter the pool first. Now a certain cripple was there for 38 years with nobody to help him enter. Then Jesus came and knowing how much time he was there said, "Do you want to be well?" The cripple answered, "Lord, I don't have a man to put me in before another enters before me."
Jesus said "rise, take your mat and walk around." Jesus cured him on that day, a Sabbath. Verses 10-18 detail how the Temple Jews began to persecute Jesus for blasphemy and working on the Sabbath.
This miracle was set up by constructing the five portico pool of Bethesda over the Sheep Gate Pool of Jerusalem. The gematria of the words show how to place the ill men in the five porticoes, have the angel agitate the water in the pool so that Jesus immediately knew that a certain cripple was there, 38 years in his sickness, and how he immediately made him well by saying five words to him.
