Jn 5:9b ... And he-took the mat of-him and was-walking-around.

The 2nd phrase has these 7 narrator words, ... Kai ēren ton krabatton autou kai periepatei (And he-took the mat of-him and was-walking-around).

The 7 narrator words are bottom up from the floor of the graph to what looks like a mat on the ground that he was walking around. The 4th word in this phrase "krabatton" (mat) always lands on this triangle (mat). It makes no difference if the 7 words are bottom up or top down. Jesus has already "slipped away" so the man can raise his mat and walk around out of the pool. The gospel assumes you are aware of all the verses that follow so it does not have to stop and explain. This will be further explained in verse 14 when Jesus finds the cured man walking around in the temple. This diagram sets up the geometry for the 3rd phrase in this verse.
