Verse 66 has 2 phrases and 14 bottom up narrator words, ... Kai ontos tou Petrou katō en tē aulē, erchetai mia tōn paidiskōn tou archiereōs (And being the Stone down in the courtyard, comes one of the maids of the chief priest). This verse picks up the story as Jesus is being tried inside by the chief priests. The first 4 words "And being the Stone" are tangent to Simon "the Stone" and the stone pavement on where he sits. The next 4 words "below in the courtyard" are tangent to the courtyard and the lowest place "down in it." Back in verse 14:54 Simon was sitting down with the underlings of the chief priest as they were "warming by the light." The next 4 words "comes one of the maids" is tangent to this young maid who is climbing the stairs in the building up to a balcony above the courtyard. She is about to link Simon as a disciple of the man being tried inside deserving to be put to death. The 2 words "of the Chief Priest" is tangent to this Priest (busy inside) who has the power of Life and Death over Jesus and possibly his followers as well. 14:65e < Verses > 14:67a |
