The word "euthus" (immediately) is the cue to use the previous diagram as a template. The 1st phrase of 3 narrator words is top down. As soon as Simon denied Jesus the third time in the previous diagram (14:71b), the Roman soldier with his trumpet "immediately came out" into the top arm of the hexagram prepared to signal the night's watch.
