The 6 narrator words are top down from second floor balcony or window where the maid appeared. Simon walks out into the forecourt (proaulion), the gated stone entryway to get further away from the light of the fire, the maid above the courtyard, and the men close below near the light where he was warming. The imagery of the words agree with all the images in the diagram.
