Mk 14:68c ... And a rooster sounded.

The 5th phrase has these 3 narrator words, ... kai alektōr efōnēsen (And a rooster sounded).

The 3 narrator words "and a rooster sounded" are top down from the Roman soldier with his trumpet (not shown) to the trumpet's sound (looking like a dialog word) coming from the soldier's mouth, then radiating out in a large circle far and wide. This is the first "cock-crow" of a Roman trumpet call ending the third watch of the night (at 3 am). The diagram shows the sound (phóneó) of the trumpet has reached Simon, a sound he has heard numerous times before at the start of the 4th watch at 3 am. But Simon's mind is filled with the fear of being identified and arrested. He is currently deaf to the sound of the trumpet in the forecourt.
