The 5th phrase has these 6 narrator words, ... kai hoi hupēretai hrapismasin auton elabon (and the underlings with slaps him received). The 6 narrator words are clockwise starting from the top and ending top left. The text says "hupēretai"from "hupó" (under) and "eresso" meaning an "under-rower" who mans the oars on the lower deck of a ship, or it could mean some kind of "underling," such as a scribe or an elder to the high priest. The noun "hrapisma" means "a slap with the open hand." The two words "hupēretai hrapismasin" (underlings with slaps) are tangent to "the two scribes" and their "open hands slapping" the sides of the soul of Jesus. The four words "hoi hupēretai auton elabon" (the underlings him received) are tangent to the corner of the triangle holding Jesus. 14:65d < Verses > 14:66 |
