Mk 3:13a ... And he-is-stepping-up into the mountain, ...

Verse 13 has 3 phrases, and 14 narrator words. The 1st phrase has these 5 words ... Kai anabainei eis to oros (And he-is-stepping-up into the mountain, ...).

The 5 narrator words are bottom up. The Greek text that has Jesus "anabainei eis" (stepping-up into) the mountain needs to be translated literally. The verb "anabainō" comes from the preposition "ana" (upwards, up to) and the verb "bainō" (to step, to walk). This is paraphrased in most bibles as "Jesus went to the mountain." The diagram shows Jesus stepping off his Cloud into a void in the mountain. Jesus will later tell a parable about casting a mountain into the sea.
