Verse 16 contains two phrases. The 1st has these 4 narrator words ... Kai epoiēsen tous dōdeka (And he-made the twelve). The 4 narrator words are top down and bottom up. This 4 word phrase (And he-made the twelve) is the ending bracket of the "inclusio" from the first phrase of verse 14. The diagram shows Jesus (888) and "tous dōdeka" (the twelve), fill the mountain, which in turn fill the raised Jesus 8880 circle top to bottom. The diagram implies Jesus made the twelve so they could proclaim his ministry, his messianic secret (Jesus was God), and his resurrection and promise of eternal Life. Verses 16b-19 will now name the apostles and show other important themes. |
