The fifth through seventh phrases have these 10 narrator words ... kai epethēken autois onoma ta Boanērges ho estin Uioi Brontēs (and he layed upon them a name, the Boanerges, which is "Sons of Thunder"). The 10 words are top down. The two words "ta Boanērges" (the Sons of Thunder) is a title of the two Zebedee brothers, John and James. The sign of "Brontēs" (thunder) is a dark sky coming close when one can begin to hear the sound of lightning. The above diagram shows the title was a drawing instruction of where to draw the thunder, the ten words, and the two brothers so that they are all tangent to each other. The 3 word term "kai epethēken onoma" (and he layed upon a name) identified the first sentence of the inclusio. The four word term "kai epethēken autois onoma" (and he layed upon to them a name) identifies the last sentence of the inclusio that brackets Jesus' inner circle of three disciples (Stone, John, and James). 3:17b < Verse > 3:18a |
