Verse 12 has 7 phrases containing 19 narrator and 3 dialog words. The 1st and 2nd phrases contain these 7 narrator words, ... Kai ēgerthē. Kai euthus aras ton krabatton (And he-stood-up, and immediately raising the mat, ...). The 7 narrator words are bottom up the center and down the sides. The word euthus (immediately), is the cue to use the previous diagram as a template. The first 2 words "and he-stood-up" are tangent to the cured boy leaving the house and standing on these 2 words. The upraised hands of the boy are tangent to the bottom of the mat. The body and hands of Jesus are tangent to the 3 words "raising the mat" which in turn are tangent to the sides and top of the mat. The imagery of the 7 words in both phrases match the imagery of this diagram and the imagery of the previous diagram. The imagery of the 12 words in the next 4 phrases will continue to match the imagery of the diagrams. 2:11b < Verses > 2:12b |
