04:01 Then the Jesus was led up into the wilderness, under the Spirit to be tempted under the Devil.
04:02 And having fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he-hungered.
04:03 And having-approached, the-one tempting said to-him, ...
"If a-Son you-are of-the God, (then) speak, so-that these the stones may-become bread."
04:04 The-one but having-answered said, ... "It-has-been-written not by bread alone will-live the man."
"but by every word coming-out through a-mouth of-God!"
04:05 Then takes him the Devil into the Holy City, ...
and he-set him upon the pinnacle of-the temple.
04:06 And he-says to-him, ... "If a-Son you-are of-the God, ..."
"throw yourself down, for it-has-been-written that, the angels of-him He-will-command about you, ..."
"and upon hands they-will-uplift you, ..."
  "lest you-strike a-stone against the foot of-you."
04:07 Said to-him the Jesus, ... "Again it-has-been-written, Do-not tempt a-Lord the God of-you."
04:08 Again takes him - the devil - into a very high mountain, ...
and he shows him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory.
04:09 And he-says to-him, ... "(then) these things all I will give to-you, ..."
"if, falling down, you will worship me."
04:10 Then Jesus says to-him, ... "Go away Satan, for it-has-been-written, ..."
"you shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him alone."
04:11 Then leaves him the Devil, ...
and behold, angels came and served to-him.
