The third though fifth phrases are an if-then sentence having these 12 dialog words ... Ei huios ei tou theou, eipe hina hoi lithoi houtoi artoi genōtai ["If a Son you are of the God, (then) speak, so that these the stones bread may become"]. The first 5 "if-words," "Ei huios ei tou theou" (if a Son you are of the God), are bottom up, tangent to the triangle holding Jesus and God the Father. The last 7 "then-words" are top down, left to right, from the top left arm of the hexagram to the bottom right triangle tangent to the Devil. The word "then" is understood. The 5 white equilateral triangles (stones) are tangent to the word "lithoi" (stones) coming out from the mouth of the Devil. Jesus chastised the Pharisees and Sadducees who claimed to be Sons of Abraham with the words "God could raise up children (sons) to Abraham from these stones" (Mt 3:9). The Jews knew God had the power to transfigure stones into sons (children) by simply willing it. In the next diagram Jesus will speak from gospel text and scripture. Matt 4:3a < Verses > Matt 4:4a |
