Verse 3 has 5 phrases and 18 words. The 1st and 2nd phrases have 6 narrator words ... Kai proselthōn, ho peiazōn eipen autiō, (And having-approached, the-one tempting said to-him, ... ). The 6 narrator words are bottom up. The first 5 words "Kai proselthōn, ho peiazōn eipen" (And having approached, the one tempting said) are tangent to the Devil. The first 4 words "Kai proselthōn ho peiazōn" (And having approached, the-one tempting) is tangent to the Devil under Jesus. The last 2 words "eipen autiō" (said to-him) are tangent to the Jesus. The Devil knows Jesus is famished from fasting 40 days, so he composed a crafty challenge based what Jesus said to the pharisees and sadducees who came to see him baptised by John the Baptist. He said to them, "Do not think within yourselves you have Abraham as father, I say to you that God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham" (Mt 3:9)" Matt 4:2 < Verses > Matt 4:3b |
