The 1st Temptation, vs 1-4: Verse 1 has 2 phrases containing 14 narrator words. The 1st phrase has these 7 words, ... Tote ho Iēsous anēxthe eis tēn erēmon, hupo tou pneumatos peirasthēnai hupo tou diabolou [Then the Jesus was-led-up into the wilderness, under the Spirit to-be-tempted under the Devil]. The 7 words of the 1st phrase, "Tote ho Iēsous anēxthe eis tēn erēmon" (Then the Jesus was led up into the wilderness) are bottom up, tangent to the upper white rhombus and "the wilderness." The 7 words of the 2nd phrase are top down, tangent to the lower black rhombus and "the Devil." The verb "anēxthe" (was led up) indicates the passive past tense with action continuing. The words "Iēsous" and "tēn erēmon" (Jesus, the wilderness) are tangent to the words and their images. The words "pneumatos" and "tou diabolou" (Spirit, the Devil) are also tangent to the words and their image. The words "(Unclean) Spirit" and the image of the Devil are already under the name and image of Jesus. START < Verses > Matt 4:2 |
