Verse 7 has 3 phrases containing these 4 narrator and 8 dialog words, ... Efē autō ho Iēsous, "Palin gegraptai, Ouk ekpeiraseis kurion ton theon sou." [Said to him the Jesus, "Again it has been written, '(Do) not out-test a-Lord the God of-you' ") Dt 6:16. The 12 words are top down. Matthew leaves out "as you did at Massah" because Jesus is not at Massah, he is in the Wilderness. The 4 narrator words "Efē autō ho Iēsous" are tangent to the face and body of Jesus. The 2 dialog words "Palin gegraptai" (Again it has been written) are tangent to the white rectangle, the sign of a Wilderness or a Scroll where Dt 6:16 is written. The last 6 dialog words "Ouk ekpeiraseis kurion ton theon sou" (Do not out-test a Lord the God of you) are tangent to the triangle holding God the Father. Matt 4:6d < Verses > Matt 4:8a |
