Verse 6 is a long if-then conditional statement of 7 phrases containing 3 narrator and 26 dialog words. The 1st and 2nd phrases have these 3 narrator and 5 dialog words ... Kai legei autō, Ei huios ei tou theou [And he-says to-him, ... "If a-Son you-are of-the God, ..."]. The 8 words are bottom up. The Devil began his second temptation with the 5 conditional words "If you-are a-Son of-the God" because he saw diagram 5b of Jesus and God the Father inside a pinnacle on top of a mountain after Jesus passed his first temptation (Mt 4:5b). When Jesus said "It has been written, not by bread alone will live the man, but by every word coming-out through the mouth of God," the 16 dialog words were tangent to the pinnacle holding them and to their faces. The Devil saw every word God said came out of the mouth of Jesus to fill an upside-down mountain with 150 words. Matt 4:5b < Verses > Matt 4:6b |
