The 2nd and 3rd phrases have these 5 narrator and 4 dialog words, ... ho de pollō mallon ekrazen, "Uie Dauid eleēson me" (The but much more he was crying out, ... "Son of-David have-mercy on-me"). The 5 narrator words are bottom up, the 4 dialog words are top down. To "cry out" still means to "stand up and cry out" of the bottom triangle. Bartimaeus cries out with one more narrator word but one less dialog word than from dialog 47b. The net effect is the same. Two mercy triangles are still tangent to Bartimaeus. If Bartimaeus can receive just one two signs of "mercy" above him one or the other of them can drive out the unseen, "Unclean Spirit" that makes him blind. 10:48a < Verses > 10:49a |
