Mk 10:46b ... And as he and his disciples departed from Jericho and a sufficient crowd, ...

46b11046b2

The 2nd phrase has these 12 narrator words, ... Kai ekporeuomenou autou apo Ierixō kai tōn mathētōn autou kai oxlou ikanou (And of going forth him from Jericho and the disciples of him and a crowd sufficient, ...). The words above the diagram are a Greek to English translation.

Diagram 1: The first 5 narrator words from the top of the green-eyed crowd are top down the center, tangent to the two white triangles representing the breadth of Jericho from one side to the other. The next 4 narrator words, from the bottom of the crowd to the top of the disciples and the triangle holding Jesus are bottom up. Jesus came into Jericho and now he and all 12 disciples are leaving. The gospel doesn't say what they did inside. The next diagram will show Jesus passing by the crowd from Jerico as he prepares to enter the road (the way) to Jerusalem.

Diagram 2: The last 3 narrator words, ... kai oxlou ikanou (and a crowd sufficient, ...) are bottom up. Since a crowd is four or more people, the 3 words are already tangent to a sufficiently large crowd that have followed the disciples and Jesus out of that city. It seems the crowd does not go forth from Jericho until the disciples have left as a way to link the crowd with Bartimaeus and "the way" and to superimpose diagram 2 over diagram 1. The diagram shows the 4 men in the crowd are tangent to "the way" and to the 3 words.
