The 3rd phrase has these 3 narrator words ... kai kratousin auton (and they-hold him). The narrator limited himself to 3 words for this diagram so that he could have the top pair of guards have a strong hold on Jesus and the bottom pair of guards have a much less strong grip on his future glorified body because of its elevated position. The naked Youth is in a mirror image position of Jesus with his God and Man, flesh and blood body. The 3 words "kai kratousin auton" (and are-holding him) are tangent to the hands and feet of Jesus and the naked youth. The word kratousin comes from kratos meaning "to use strength to seize." The 3 words are also tangent to the bodies of Jesus and the youth and to the white triangles holding them. The Temple Guards are now holding Jesus and the Youth at the same time. Jesus is strongly held in his tight fitting triangle. The Guards of the naked youth have a not so strong grip on his long linen sheets wrapped about his body. The diagram is now in the perfect position for the number and Greek word order of the 7 narrator words for verse 52. 14:51b < Verses > 14:52 |
