Verse 51 has 2 phrases and 12 narrator words. The 1st phrase has these 5 words ... Kai neaniskos tis sunēkolouthei autō [And a-youth one-certain together-followed to-him, ...]. The 5 narrator words are bottom up. The last 2 words "sunekolouthei autiō" come from "sun" (together-with), "ēkolouthei" (followed), and "autiō" (to-him). This "one-certain youth" is an avatar of how Jesus will look when he returns from the dead in a glorified body that will have eternal life and youth. This diagram is a readers only preview of how this youth looks when not wearing his "fine-linen-sheet" wrapped around him. The linen sheet represents the burial shroud in which the naked dead body of Jesus will be wrapped. The naked youth represents how Jesus will look when he returns naked and reborn - as a young man in the prime of life, just before his beard starts to grow. Two temple guards already had their hands on this avatar but he will slip out of his sheet. The guards are only holding his wrapper. He is uncovered and naked. The gospel words above the next diagram will have more commentary below regarding "this one-certain youth" and his "wrapper." 14:50 < Verses > 14:51b |
