The sixth and seventh phrases concludes with these six dialog words, ... alla, oinon neon eis askous kainous ("Instead, wine new into wineskins new"). The 6 words are top down. Perhaps the concluding sentence implies that Jesus has cast the Holy Spirit (new wineskins) into "new wine" (new believers). This parable restates the prophesy of John the Baptist when he said he baptised people with water but Jesus baptised with the Holy Spirit (Mark 1:8). |
