Verse 35 is the shortest verse in the New Testament having these 3 narrator words, ... Edakrusen ho Iēsous (He-shed-tears, the Jesus). The 3 narrator words are bottom up. The Greek verb for "I weep, I shed tears" is "dakruō." The gospel text however uses the aorist tense "edakrusen" (he-shed-tears). The diagram shows Jesus shedding four tears down into the tomb via the supernatural opening made by the "Holy Spirit." Four of his tears, one tear for each of the four days Lazarus spent in the tomb, fall exactly tangent onto the head, hands, and arms of Lazarus. If the Holy Spirit was a collection vessel, Lazarus would be covered in tears! Jn 11:34b < Verse > Jn 11:36 |
