The 2nd through 4th phrases are a disguised if-then statement. The missing word "then" is understood. Martha's accusation has these 10 dialog words, ... Kurie ei ēs hōde, ouk an apethanen ho adelfos mou (Lord, if you-were here, (then) not ever would-have-died the brother of-me). The 10 dialog words are top down. The word "Kurie" (Lord) is tangent to Jesus and the words "apethanen ho adelfos mou" (would-have-died the brother of-me) are tangent to Martha and her brother Lazarus. |
