The 6th through 8th phrases have these 10 dialog words, an "if-then" complaint to Jesus regarding the brother of Mary, ... "Kurie, ei ēs hōde, ouk an mou apethanen ho adelfos" (Lord, if you-were here, not ever of-me would-have-died the brother). The 10 dialog words are top down from the feet of Jesus, to Mary, to the image of her dead brother. The unspoken word "then" is understood. In verse 21b, Martha said the same 10 words to Jesus except she said the word "mou" (of-me), at the end of the sentence. The title "Kurie" (Lord) is tangent to feet of Jesus. The words "mou apethanen ho adelfos" (of-me would-have-died the brother) are tangent to Mary and the dark triangle of "death" holding Lazarus her brother. |
