The 2nd and 3rd phrases have these 4 dialog words ... Xaire, basileu tōn Ioudaiōn ("Hail, King of the Jews")! The 4 words are top down. The stem of the verb "Xairō" (to rejoice) has many cognates of greeting, joy, happyness, and grace. The Roman soldiers will twist the word to begin to horrify, torment, and mock their victim before the really painful act of killing him begins. The 4 words "Xaire basileu tōn Ioudaiōn" (Hail, King of the Jews!) raise Jesus above the ground inside the Star of David, the sign that he is the King of the Jews. |
