Mk 1:34b ... And not did-he-allow the demons to speak, because they-saw him.

34b

The 3rd and 4th phrases have these 9 narrator words: ... Kai ouk ēfien lalein ta daimonia hoti ēdeisan auton (And not did he permit to speak the demons because they saw him).

The 9 Jesus (888) sized narrator words are bottom up. The first 4 or 6 words "Kai ouk ēfien lalein ta daimonia" (And not did he permit to speak the demons) fill the entire space between the demons which does not allow the men they hold to speak there. The last 5 words "ta daimonia hoti ēdeisan auton" (the demons because they saw him) fill half the space above the demons which also does not allow the men they hold to speak there. This diagram is a flashback that shows the two sick men before Jesus cured them. The pronoun "auton" (him) is tangent to Jesus. The empty circle tangent to the 2 men is the sign of their "not speaking." If Jesus allowed the 2 men to speak for the demons they would reveal the messianic secret that Jesus is the messiah, a charge that could get him killed by the authorities before he completed his ministry.
