The 5th phrase has these 3 narrator words ... kai diekonei autois (and she was serving them).

The 3 narrator words are top down. The text does not say what she was serving. Verse 1:32-34, his third miracle, will passively imply that diseases are caused by "evil ones" (ie demons). Perhaps Simon's mother in law was serving them bread and good health, protection against these Unclean Spirits! Jesus will then render these Unclean Spirits mute so they won't reveal his messianic secret, that he is the "Son of God."
