Here is the second sentence (fourth phrase) containing these seven dialog words ... su tetērēkas ton kalon oinon heōs arti ("you have kept the good wine until now"). The 7 words are top down. The word "tetērēkas," derived from the verb tēreō means to guard, to watch over, but is usually translated in bibles as "kept." The four words "tetērēkas ton kalon oinon" are tangent to the "good wine." The words "heōs arti" (until now) are tangent to the bridegroom who had run out of wine in verse 3. The water Jesus has changed into 'good wine' has yet to be set out. This is the first sign miracle performed by Jesus in John's gospel. Jn 2:10b < Verse > Jn 2:11a |
