Here is the third phrase using these five words ... kai hotan methusthōsin ton elassō ("and when they become drunk, the inferior"). The five words are top down. The two words "ton elassō" are tangent to "the inferior wine." The preposition "they" in the word "methusthōsin" refers to the guests. The master of the feast usually sets out the inferior wine only when the guests have become drunk. He knows that a drunk can't tell the difference between good and inferior wine.
