The 2nd phrase has these 4 dialog words, ... kai dothēnai tois prōxois ("and to be given to the poor"). Diagram 1: All four disciples were needed to say the 8 or 9 words in diagrams 4b and 5a. Now with only 4 words to say only two disciples are needed. The first three words "kai dothēnai tois" (and to be given to the) are tangent to the givers, the four disciples. The last word "prōxois" (poor) is tangent to the seven circles of ointment that holds (anoints) all the poor people. Diagram 5a2 for the previous phrase showed how many denarii for which the ointment could have been sold. Diagram 2: This hypothetical diagram shows the 300 denarii and the seven circles of ointment that held (anointed) all the "prōxois" (poor) people. Again, the disciples could have drawn the 300 denarii on top of and tangent to the poor men held inside the seven circles of spilled ointment. 14:5a < Verses > 14:5c |
