Mk 12:12a ... And they were seeking to seize him, ...

Verse 12 has four phrases and 20 narrator words. The first phrase has these 4 words ... Kai ezētoun auton kratēsai ("And they were seeking him to seize, ...").

The 4 narrator words are top down. This hypothetical diagram shows the priests, scribes, and elders would like to sieze Jesus, immediately in the temple, or someplace else later. They will get their wish later in chapter 14.
