Verse 7 has four phrases and 20 dialog words. The 1st phrase has these 8 dialog words ... ekeinoi de hoi geōrgoi pros eautous eipan hoti ("Those but the land-workers to themselves said that, ...). The 8 dialog words are top down from the hands of Jesus tangent to all four land workers (farmers). The 3rd and 4th words "hoi geōrgoi" (land-workers) are tangent to the top 2 farmers. The 4 top and bottom words (Those but said that) touch all four farmers who are ready to talk to each other. The hexagon is open, ready for their words. The land workers now come up with the evil idea to kill the beloved son. He is the heir (kléronomos) to the vineyard which sits on the land they are working. This part of the verse might correspond to the fear the high priests and temple officials had that Jesus was the heir to the temple. This fear may have come about around the day he cast out the money changers. Perhaps they were afraid of losing revenue if Jesus could somehow change the rules. 12:6c < Verses > 12:7b |
