The 2nd phrase has these 5 dialog words ... Lithon hon apedokimasan hoi oikodomuntes ("A stone which rejected the home-builders, ..."). The 5 dialog words are top down. The words "the stone the builders rejected" comes from the first line of Ps 118:22. The word "lithon" (a stone) is a double metaphor. On one hand it is Jesus, on the other it is the equilateral triangle before which Jesus stands. The diagram shows the chief priests, elders, and scribes standing before from an unfinished home. They have rejected the rectangle on which the elders sit. Jesus stands before the triangle on the top of the house which the builders rejected, but it could easily be made into a door with a cut down the middle because it has the same height and area. 12:10a < Verses > 12:10c |
