Mk 8:9a ... And ~ there-were 'about 4,000,' ...

Verse 9 has two phrases containing 7 narrator words. The first phrase has these 4 words ... ēsan de hōs tetrakischilioi (there were and approximately 4,000).

The 4 narrator words are top down tangent to the 4440 circle holding the approx 4000. The expression "ēsan de" (and there were) marks a transition, an introduction to an important explanation. In a gematria story the 2 word term "hōs tetrakischilioi" (about 4000) calls for careful calculation. By computation, the perimeter of the square is 3,997.4 units which is "approximately 4,000" just like the verse says! It is also equal to the diagonal of the 8880 graph.

This final verse of how Jesus fed the 4,000 ends more abruptly than the parable of how Jesus fed the 5,000. In the previous feeding miracle, verse 6:44 tells the number of men in the crowd, verse 45 dismisses the crowd, and verse 46 says the crowd departed. This verse accomplishes all that in one verse. After being fed, the crowd transforms from a reclining rectangle into a mobile square, ready to depart for home. This diagram is virtually identical to 6:44 except it has one less inscribed square and 1,000 less people.
