Jn 1:21b ... "Are you the prophet"? ... And he-answered, "No."

The 6th through 8th phrases contain these 5 dialog and 2 narrator words asked by the priests and Levites and John's answer, ... Ho profētes ei su? Kai apekrithe, Ou ("The prophet are you"? ... And he-answered, "No")

The 4 dialog words are bottom up, left to right. The two narrator words and one dialog word are top down, left to right. When John denied he was Elias, the scribes knew of this other prophesy said by Moses that John might fulfill ... "The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him!" (Deuteronomy 18:15). When John denied he was a prophet, the Jews needed an explanation from John. They could not return to Jerusalem empty handed.
