Verse 42 has 3 phrases and 10 narrator words. The 1st and 2nd phrases have these 7 words ... Kai ēdē opsias genomenēs, epei en paraskeue [And already evening having become, since it was (the) Preparation, ...]. The 7 words are bottom up the sides and top down the center. The Greek word opsias means a time "late in the day," from hours 9 to 12 (3 to 6 pm). The Greek word "paraskeuē" is "preparation." To this day in Greece it is still the name for Friday. Since the Torah says one cannot light a fire or cook on the Sabbath, the meals are prepared the day before.
