Mk 15:40b ... among whom (were) both Mary the Magdelene, ...

40b

The 2nd phrase has these 6 narrator words ... en ais kai Maria ē Magdalēnē [among whom (were) both Mary the Magdalene, ...].

The 6 narrator words are top down. The diagram shows the first 3 words "en ais kai" [among whom (were) both] are tangent to the soldiers as a group and partially eclipsing the body of Jesus on the cross. The last 3 words are tangent to Mary the Magdalene and the other two named women who will appear in the diagram that follows. If the five soldiers, three women, and Jesus were metaphors for the time in hours, it would match the time (hour eight or nine) that Jesus died and tore the veil of the temple from top to bottom.
