The second and third phrase have these 8 narrator words ... Kai idōn auton, to pneuma euthus sunesparaksen auton (And having seen him, the Spirit 'immediately' convulsed him). The 8 narrator words are bottom up. The little boy sees for the Spirit, therefore the words are size 888. The word "euthus" (immediately) is the cue to use the previous diagram as a template. The 8 words and the convulsing boy take the space required by the three disciples, so they are no longer needed in this diagram. The Unclean Spirit is now next to Jesus and it knows Jesus will not let it live, so it convulses the little boy back and forth. The 3 words of phrase #2, "Kai idōn auton" (And having seen him), do two things: 1) above, the words are tangent to the Unclean Spirit and Jesus, 2) below, they raise up the 5 words of phrase #3, "to pneuma euthus sunesparaksen auton" (the Spirit immediately convulsed him), which are tangent to the Unclean Spirit and the convulsing little boy. 9:20a < Verses > 9:20c |
