Mk
9:13b ... "and they did to him what they wanted, ..."

The third phrase has these 5 dialog words ... "Kai epoiēsan autō hosa ēthelon" ("and they did to him what they wanted, ...").
The 5 dialog words are top down. Herodias wanted Herod to kill John the Baptist.
He was subsequently beheaded, his head put on a platter, and his corpse put
in a tomb. Jesus,
the 'Son of Man' will suffer similar things. He was arrested, killed, and put in a tomb just
like John the Baptist. The diagram shows two scribes agreeing what they should say (write). Matthew's version of the transfiguration
clearly states that John the Baptist was the reincarnation of Elias.
Then
they asked him ... "Why do the scribes say that Elias must come
first?"
He told
them, ... "Elias will indeed come first and restore all things."
"But I
tell you that Elias has already come, and they did not recognize
him, but they did to him whatever they pleased. So also will the Son
of Man suffer at their hands."
"Then
the disciples understood that that he was speaking to them of
John the Baptist."
