Mk 9:11a ... And they were questioning him saying, ...

Verse 11 has three phrases and 13 words. The first phrase has these 4 narrator words ... Kai epērōtōn auton legontes (And they were questioning him saying, ...).

The 4 words are bottom up. The 3 words "Kai epērōtōn auton" (And they were questioning him) are tangent to the three disciples. The diagram shows the disciples are going to question Jesus about a prophesy said by the above two scribes about Elias.
