The 3rd and 4th phrases each have 3 narrator words in this order ... meston ixthuōn megalōn, ekaton pentēkonta triōn [full of-fish large, ... a-hundred fifty three, ...]. The 6 narrator words are top down. The 1st phrase "meston ixthuōn megalōn" is ambiguous. It is designed to make one think the net holds nothing but large fish or a large number of fish. The second three word phrase "ekaton pentēkonta triōn" (153) is just an ambiguous number but also a "large number." What it modifies is unknown until we see the above diagram that shows the number of "little fish" in the net is "sixteen," not "153." The number "153" signifies the size of the "little fish" or the size of the net's mesh! Doing the math, we know that each of the four sides of the rhombus that form the net or a large fish is 612 units, the same number as the radius of the boat, the diameter of Simon Peter, and the width of "the net." The top two sides of the large fish is 1224 units, the gematria value of "ixthues" (fishes 1224). Therefore, by calculation, each of the "sides" as well as the "width" of the sixteen "little fish" is 153 units. So, how many fish are there? The answer to the riddle is that there are 16 small fish inside the net. The number "153" refers to their size, not how many were caught! The diagram agrees exactly with what the verse says!! If the 16 small fish are seen as one large fish, then there are 16 + 1 = 17 "fishes" in the net. Amazingly, the sum of the consecutive numbers from 1 to 17 is 153. Also, there is a cubic equation that equals "the number" in the net. Here are the two equations: 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 10 + 11 + 12 + 13 + 14 + 15 + 16 + 17 = 153 13 + 53 + 33 = 1 + 125 + 27 = 153 Amazingly, the recently discovered Gospel of Thomas saying #8 hints at this exact diagram:
