The 3rd phrase has these 5 narrator words ... alla ōs apo pēxōn diakosiōn (but about from cubits 200, ...). The 5 words again are top down tangent to all 6 disciples and Simon. To confirm that the distance from land is "about 200 cubits," Simon was turned into vesica mode, the same as the other six disciples. The radius of Simōn {1100} o {70} Petros {755} (Simon the Stone = 1925) by calculation is 306.37 units. The red line coming from the bottom of Simon's vesica to the shoreline of the sea is also the radius of his face. The length of this red line needs to be computed from units to cubits to see if it agrees with the gospel text. Since a Greek cubit is equal to 1.5 Greek feet, simply divide 306.37 units by the conversion factor of 1.50. The result is 204.25 which in cubits is "about 200." The verse agrees with the diagram! Verse 8 has one more phrase. Let's see if the imagry of diagram 8d also agrees with the imagery of the gospel text. Jn 21:8b < Verse > Jn 21:8d |
