The fourth phrase has these 3 dialog words ... meizō toutōn opsē ("greater things you will see"). Diagram 1: The 3 dialog words are top down. If Jesus knew about Nathanael being under a fig tree before he even met him in the past, Jesus prophesizes he will see something even greater than a fig tree in the future. Jesus and the words of his prophesy are blocking "greater things" Nathanael will see. Diagram 2: Nathanael steps up to what "great things" he can see. Now he stands on the canopy of the fig tree. He now also stands in front of the three white triangles that have come together to form a white upside down trapezoid. The large flesh or skin colored circle behind the fig tree now has a name and a number, the sign of the "Son of Man" (2960). Nathanael can now see from horizon to horizon. The prophesy of "greater things you will see" will appear in the words of John 1:51, the last verse in this gospel chapter. Jn 1:50a < Verse > Jn 1:51a |
