Mk 16:8a ... And having-gone-out, they-fled from the tomb, ...

16:8a

Verse 8 has 5 phrases containing 18 narrator words. The 1st and 2nd phrases have these 6 words ... Kai exelthousai, efugon apo tou mnemeiou (And having-gone-out, they-fled from the tomb, ...).

The 6 narrator words are top down from the top of the tomb to the 3 women fleeing out the open doorway. The 1st phrase (and having-gone-out) refers to the 3 women in the above diagram and in the next phrase. But if the 1st phrase refers to the first 2 words in the diagram, the 2 words have already "gone-out" from the tomb before the 3 women!!
The 4 words in the 2nd phrase "efugon apo tou mnemeiou" (they-fled from the tomb) are also top down from the top of the tomb to the 3 women fleeing out the open doorway. The pronoun "they" embedded in the verb "efugon" (they-fled) refers to the three women.
