The 5th and 6th phrases have these 4 narrator words ... hina elthousai aleipsōsin auton (so-that having-come, they-might-anoint him). The 4 words are bottom up. The words appear next to the signs they name. The verse conveys the image of what the women intend to do after they arrive at the tomb. This hypothetical future diagram shows Mary Magdelene inside the tomb anointing the dead Jesus (with her hair) in the spot where he would be if he was still dead. The oil soaked leaves of the spices would anoint his limbs and body. Jesus however was already anointed at Bethany and was also already transfigured into his immortal and never aging body of an eternal and immortal young man (a Youth). 16:1b < Verse > 16:2a |
