Mk 15:24b .... and they-divide the garments of-him, ...

The 2nd phrase has these 5 narrator words, ... kai diamerizontai ta himatia autou (and they-divide the garments of-him, ...).

The 5 narrator words are bottom up. Jesus had two garments, an outer-garment labeled "The Tunic," and an under-garment (the 4 small yellow triangles) which were divided in 4 parts and taken from the red-lined space under the 3 words "the garments of-him." The 2 words "kai diamerizontai" (and they-divide) are tangent to the four soldiers who divided the under-garment. The diagram shows each soldier has a-part of the under-garment. This verse paraphrases the Old Testament verse which reads ... "They divide my clothes among them" (Ps 22:18a). The Gospel of John added these details ... “Therefore when the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and the tunic (Jn 19:23). The tunic was a long seamless woven outer-garment. The next diagram shows how the soldiers cast lots for it.
