Mk 15:21c ... in-order-that he-might-raise-up the cross of-him.

The 4th phrase has these 5 narrator words ... hina arē ton stauron autou (in-order-that he-might-raise-up the cross of-him).

The 5 narrator words are bottom up. The aorist Greek verb airō with the iota subscript means that Simon should "raise" the cross "up to" where Jesus should be. Simon has already done that in the previous diagram. This wording suggests that Simon carried the cross all the way to Golgotha because Jesus did not have the strength to do it. In real life, only the cross beam would have been carried. The uprights would be permanent fixtures of the execution grounds. The real reason seems geometric, to raise a cross that fills the hexagon. The diagram shows how Simon, with help from his two sons have already raised the cross. The size and shape of the cross will be confirmed by gematria in verse 15:25.
