Verse 24 has 3 phrases containing 3 text and 11 dialog words. The first and second phrases have these 3 text and 7 dialog words, ... Kai eipen autois, Touto estin to aima mou tēs diathēkēs [And he said to them, "This is the blood of me of the Covenant, ..."). The 3 words of the first phrase is bottom up tangent to the inside of the triangle under the sign of the Covenant. The second phrase is top down tangent to the cup and its contents. The first 5 words "This is the blood of me" is tangent to Jesus and the surface of the blood in the cup. The last 2 words "of the Covenant" is tangent to the top of the white rectangle, the document holding the words of the Passover Covenant. Jesus links and equates himself with Moses and God the Father by paraphrasing Exodus 24:8. The OT meaning of the Covenant is God's passover promise to deliver his people out of Egypt. The sign for the Covenant appears to be the rectangle on which the Cup of Blood sits and on which Jesus stands. 14:23b < Verses > 14:24b |
